Something to Ponder

Dear all my Famerie (Asian voice) and Friends!

This week has been a week of literal nothingness's  haha We had the Washington County Fair this past week which here is like a freakin holiday for everyone! haha so no one was home cause of the fair or they weren't home because they were on their final family vacation before school starts next week. So we had a lot of things cancel and a lot of empty roads and traffic jams haha We were given permission to go to the fair with a member from president on P-Day and to go on a non P-Day to try and do some work there, sadly we didn't get a chance to go because when we got that info it was towards the end of the week and we couldn't go cause the last day of the fair was on Sunday.

We did have a great time at a members farm again this past week. Do you remember the week I told we went and fed cows and what not? We got to go back and do it again and help them prepare to move to a new farm just a miles up the road. They were loading and milking 40 cows the night we got there that they sold that were going to Ohio. That was pretty cool to help with the Milking and watching the trailer guys load up the cows on the trailer.

Other than that, we had nothing to exciting this week. haha I did get a package from my parents that did contain some things fro my birthday as well as some things I needed haha other than that its been the same old same old :) OH! I almost forgot, Transfer calls are this week on Saturday! So look forward to next weeks email containing the information on what is going to happen with next Transfer!

I love you all and will hopefully talk to you all very soon!

Love,
Elder Anthony Zenger

Food, Food, Food & Free Stuff!

Dear all 'yall who are readin! haha

This past week has been a great week so far! I got to go on an awesome exchange to Glens Falls this week and work with Elder Moore ( he is still kinda new ) We had a good time working, and of course, having a blast at the same time! haha He is such a great elder and with a little more practice, I do believe he will be a very powerful missionary.

We didn't have to many dinner appointments this week, so I did the impossible and made "BBQ Pulled Pork" with my own BBQ sauce :) We had some left over pork that our Branch mission leader and his wife gave us from their pig roast party they had a week or 2 ago. I put it in the crock pot we had, put some ketchup in it, some sierra mist, and some other spices and let is cook ALL DAY LONG while we were out working! When we got home, I took out all the bones, (the meat just fell apart beautifully) and we started to eat! It was AMAZING! I don't know if it was cause I was just super hungry that it tasted good or what but it was amazing! haha

We also ran across a free sale on the way home on saturday and I got the following a paintball gun, dvds, ps1 games, and a little mario to go on my desk. I will be sending home all the other stuff when I can get a box to put it all in haha  It's amazing what you can find for free here in the state of new york haha

HIGH OF THE WEEK:
The high of this week was being able to make a meal out of nothing for my companion and I! haha pretty cool eh?

LOW OF THE WEEK:
We had pretty much everything cancel this week including dinner appointments, but its ok we still had a good week. :)

SOMETHING GRATEFUL FOR:
I am grateful for the many blessing I received this week even though it seemed like we did nothing, we were able to help the people that we say the best we could!

SOMETHING I WISH I COULD CHANGE:
I don't think I would have changed anything I did this week. This week was really a pretty good week all around! :)

I am sorry that this week's email is short, but the time on the computer seems to get shorter and shorter every week! haha I hope you all have an awesome week and may god bless you and your families!

Love,
Elder Zenger

Week of Surprises!

Dear all my homies! ( That was just for you Kris haha )

This week has been a blast! Well no literally but it has been a pretty good week! We had ZTM (Zone Training Meeting) on tuesday and the training was on Repentance and how we can truly and fully repent and teach others how to repent. I felt so touched by the spirit and feel more like I can help people understand the power of repentance and show them how they can repent.

So, I know that my cousin Terry is leaving on mission this week, I hope that he can see or hear about this part in my email. (he has been bugging me to do this since I left on my mission) I did indeed make my companion CURRY! :) Yup that is right I made my companion dinner and I made the Adams special curry that Terry and I cherish so dearly! haha I didn't have any of it cause I had a small stomach bug that day but my companion did say it tasted pretty good! haha I did not have any orange chicken though.....stink en K-Mart and Hannaford don't have any! -.-  Lame right? No I don't have a wal-mart I can go to either. haha

I was also surprised by our investigators Denny and Meagan Keegan yesterday with an early birthday cake and them singing me happy birthday! I really felt like I was at home for a moment and it was a surprise I will never forget and am indeed great full for!

I sadly forgot my camera in my backpack in the apartment today so I will send pictures from what has happened this week as soon as I can get back on the computer! haha

HIGH OF THE WEEK:
My high of the week was being able to be surprised with an early birthday cake and the fact that I have so many people who love me out here when I am so far from home.

I sadly only have time for the high of the week this week,

I love you all and hope that the lord is blessing you all in your efforts!

Love,
Elder Zenger

Wonderful Smells and Blessings!

Dear my "Peeps!" (Yup I called all of you a yummy Marshmallow treat they hand out on Easter)

This week has been a joy and wondrous time here in the land of Greenwich NY. Let's start at the beginning of this week shall we?

This week we got the awesome chance to move into our new apartment for the first 3 days of this week. On Monday, we did as much P-day things as we could with packing, dinner appointments, and other service opportunities through out the day. On Tuesday we finished packing everything in the morning, went and had district meeting, and then spent the rest of the day moving into our new apartment as well as cleaning the old one so that we could get our security deposit back from the land lord. On Wednesday, we finished unpacking, arranging and finishing our P-day activities that we didn't have time for on Monday. Talk about a busy three days! haha

On Thursday, We got to have a Semi-Normal day. We went and helped a member with some yard work all that morning (cause he is on disability) and he fed us an amazing lunch afterwards! Later that day we met with a couple people and got a phone call to go on splits with a member of the Branch Council to a Part member/Less active family to do some service. He told us on the phone, "Make sure you wear grubbies and some mud shoes!" When we met him at the church building he gave us both boots to wear and off we went. When we got the members home, we realized that we were now on a dairy farm! Yup, lots and lots and lots of mud, cows, poop, and everything else you could ever imagine! Elder Wilson and I got to help feed the calfs that were born only a week prior to our arrival that day. We also got to help with the Milking process a little bit which was really cool! Needless to say I can now say that I have indeed feed a baby cow, and have milked a cow on my mission and for the first time in my life! Pretty cool huh? Sadly to say, it was dark so we don't have any of pictures of the cows but maybe next we go and visit we will take pictures!

The rest of this week has been pretty normal when it comes to missionary work! We picked up a new investigator and got him with a soft baptismal date (which means he said yes to baptism but doesn't have a date yet.) I wanna thank the people who have started sending out B-Day presents already!

I love you all and hope that things will be as awesome as they can be!

Love,
Elder Zenger

Crazy Week

Dear all of "Yous Guys" ;)

This past week has been a week of blessings and craziness! Which is why this letter, email, post, what ever you wanna call it is a little later than usual haha

This past week we had to go down and spend time at Transfers. Not because one of us was leaving, but we had to drive all the way down to Utica to get a brand new car! YEAH! No more old, beat up, Missionary Abused 2011 Chev. Malibu! We got to not only spend time with everyone who was at transfers, but we got to drive home our new 2013 Toyota Corolla! WOOO! It's like driving a freaking Go-Kart in that thing! haha It's pretty sweet! I also got to see my "Missionary Father" Elder Evans at transfers, and got to hear Sister Ross's Departing Testimony as she, 2 other Sisters and 2 other Elders gave advice, and shared their Testimonies the as they said good-bye for now before they traveled home the next morning. It was sad to see them go and to be able to say see ya later to others as they went to their new areas, but we all know that this is where the Lord needs us at this time with the people we are assigned with.

We also saw an amazing amount of blessing happen for us in our area this past week as well! Last week we were very sad and discouraged with the small amount of people we could see and that all our appointments fell through. As we stayed faithful and true, we were greatly blessed with many people to see and teach this past week as well as some really good people we can start teaching really soon! Its so awesome! I defiantly learned that I need to wait for the Lord and his timing and not wanting it now when I don't need it now.

The past couple days have been the craziest days of them all this past week! We are moving into our new apartment today (tuesday 7/30/13) and so we have been helping the members (who are renting us the new apartment) remodel, paint, clean, and prep the apartment so that we could move in and not have to worry about anything. We also have been cleaning, packing, and throwing away a lot of things in our apartment so that way we can move right after district meeting today and not have to worry about it. We have been so crazy busy and rushing around (which is really awesome by the way) we actually have no food (cause we packed it all) or time to eat cause we have been so busy! We were truly great full for the members yesterday who after we got done doing final things to our apartment yesterday, took us out to Subway for what they thought was Lunch for us at 1pm, when really that was our breakfast! haha Remember, starving is the wrong way you loose wait kids, DON'T DO IT! haha plus your body will hate you for it as mine has haha

Dispite all the work we have been doing and all the service and craziness, I lay in my bed each night, soar, aching, exhausted, with a smile on my face thinking to myself, "We did so much good today and each second was worth it!" I know that as we look at things with the thought of No one else's standards matter but the Lords, and the Lords standard, is for you to do your best and give everything you've got! and no matter the out come, no matter what any one else tells you, he is sitting there with a smile on his face saying "You did well, my great and faithful servant."

I love you all and am sorry there is no pictures this week but I will try and take pictures when and if I can this up coming week! I hope you all are doing well, that your families are doing well, that your staying faithful, and that you all know that no matter what you do, say or think, it's never to late, the Lord loves you no matter what and will forgive you if you are also willing to forgive yourself.

Love,
Elder Anthony Zenger

Storms and Other Things!

Dear Family and Friends,

This past week I am happy to tell all of you that I am not getting transferred and that Elder Wilson and I will be staying together in Greenwich! I have also finished the Book of Mormon this week and boy is it an awesome read! haha (that was a major duh moment I know haha )

We had a massive tropical storm this past week and it was the best light show I have ever seen in my entire life! There was major wind, lightning every second, tons of rain, and tons of wind! It was so awesome! We did have some people in the Branch loose power but they are all taken care of. (Sadly I don't have pictures of the storm sorry)

HIGH OF THE WEEK:
The high of this week was being able to know of the things I can do as a missionary and improving my faith in the Lord.

LOW OF THE WEEK:
The Low of this week has been the small numbers we have had with our key indicators. But we need to keep doing our best and doing all that we can!

SOMETHING GRATEFUL FOR:
I am super grateful for the book of mormon and the blessing and feelings I have felt when I read it, finished it, and prayed about it.

SOMETHING I WISH I COULD CHANGE:
I wish could change nothing this past week, this week was a good week regardless of what our numbers say.

I love you all and hope that you all are being blessed in some way!

Love Elder Zenger

P.S. Sorry this email is super super short, nothing happened really haha

A Week of Craziness!

 Dear EVERYONE!

This past week has been a very very odd week. In fact this transfer has been so odd, it's opened my eyes to a lot of things haha ( I know I probably say that about all my transfers so far ) But There have been some awesome things that have happened in the past week that have been very exciting!

The Greenwich Elders are now moving into a new apartment! Yup, we are moving sometime with in the next couple of weeks above our be Branch Mission Leader's home! They remodeled a lot of the old apartment that was there so that we have somewhere nice to be! Elders have been in our current apartment for 5+ Years and we are now finally upgrading! No that is all the real exciting news I have to bring up, except for one other thing. Transfers is Next week on Tuesday the 24th! Which means that Transfer calls are this Saturday on the 20th! I hope that I will be able to stay 1 more transfer so that I can live in the apartment for a little while. haha We sadly move in after Transfers have happened, but we shall see where the lord needs me next transfer!

This past week we have had some random sicknesses going on and around! Our district leader Elder Mecham (Who was my District leader in the MTC) came down with a pretty bad cold and now has pink eye on top of the cold. His companion now also has Lime Disease as well. I did catch a little bit of what Elder Mecham had for a couple days, then It came to me! I have the power of LDM-100! I took some in the morning the next morning and was up right and ready to work full of energy and didn't feel any of the symptoms I had felt the previous couple days. (Thank you Meldrum Family and my mom for sending it to me and introducing it to me!) I will be seeing if it will work for the other Elders on tuesday at district meeting.

HIGH OF THE WEEK:
The high of the week for me this week was being able to help out and do service for our Branch Mission Leader and his family to help us get our new apartment ready for us to move in.

LOW OF THE WEEK:
The low of this week seemed in my eyes a lot this week. When in reality the only true low of this week was, that we had to drop our investigator with a baptismal date. (she was our only one)

SOMETHING I AM GRATEFUL FOR:
Something I am indeed grateful for this week, is the love and guidance that I have received from my Heavenly Father, My family, Friends at home and here out in the mission field. With out any of them, I would have gone insane and would not have had my head on straight. :)

SOMETHING I WISH I COULD HAVE CHANGED:
Something I wish I could have changed this week, would be the way I felt about the things that have happened this week and I wish I could have kept the faith of a child. Which is something I will definitely work on this next week starting right now.

WHAT I STUDIED THIS WEEK:
I read from the Book of Mormon all week this week in study. I read about when Christ came and visited the Americas and ministered to the people, up to when all the Nephites are destroyed and Moroni is the only one left of his kind.

I love you all and hope all is going well back home and that the lord is blessing all of your lives continually!

Love,
Elder Zenger
